So this blogging project has been my favorite so far all year. I am really not looking forward to going back to the classroom.

Some things that frustrated me about this project are how we couldn't connect to each other. It was very difficult to follow each other on Blogger.com.
Another thing that had me frustrated was the way people wrote. Some bias opinions and bad grammar had me reeling.

Other than that this assignment has been pretty satisfying.

Senior Breakfast

So the senior breakfast was this morning. It was alright. Could have been better what it was better than nothing. The overall mood of the event was excitment and enthusiasim. Only 100 days untill graduation. I think we are all very excited about this. Ms. Pacheco's words of encouragement were met with scepticism. But I think it was mostly a success.

Happy Saint Patricks Day!

First lets start with Happy Saint Patrick's Day. Many Americans celebrate Saint Patrick's day with Parades and parties. However in Ireland it has been declared a National holiday and is a holy day in Ireland. All across Ireland today many Irish children have the day off and are spending it at church. The day traditionally ends with a large feast. So while we spend the day celebrating and getting decked out in beads and green clothing the Irish are spending this day remembering Saint Patrick. This is also the one day a year they do not drink.

Chewing Coca!

In 1961 the United Nations decided that they would try to ban Coca Leaf Chewing with in 25 years. As with most other things in this generation it has not been accomplished. Many claim that the leaf can be linked to high blood pressure and cancer.

By banning coca leaf chewing you will not fully stop the practice. It is similar to the ban on marijuana. The practice will just go underground.

33 years after the initial agreement to ban coca leaf chewing there still has not been a ban on coca leaf chewing. The question is just now being asked. Who should be making the decisions to ban the addictive leaf. Should it be the United nations with out the full co-operation of the Bolivian government or should the Government of Bolivia decide the fate of an age old tradition originally practiced by the the cultures of the Andes mountains.

I think it is great to have ethnic Barbies. It doesn't make girls or boys for that matter feel like they have to fit into one mold or idea of "pretty."

Rhianna and Chris Brown

Rhianna and Chris Brown have recently made headlines. Between the beating and assault charges there is a lot to discuss. Women and abuse has been a subject that has caught attention. Personally I could care less about the Chris Brown/ Rhianna situation. I think that as celebrities you should set an example. They clearly did not do that.

Back to women and being beaten. It is a subject that has been recognized throughout history. Violence is never acceptable. Therefore it is never right for anyone to be violent towards anyone else whether women, children, or any other living creature.

There is finally warm weather upon us. This is great new to those of us who can't wait to pack away the winter coats for the season and break out the shorts and skirts. Warm weather makes everything easier. Just throw on a tank top and go. Plus it just makes everything more enjoyable. =)

The Right to Die

After reading the article Ring exposes rift in ‘right-to-die’ movement I have not been swayed in my opinions. After watching many people become terminally ill and not want to live anymore I believe that assisted suicide is something that should be legalized. Whether it is doctors or not there should be people able to assist people who no longer want to live and are terminally ill.

My grandma was very sick for months and began to lose her mind. It would have been beneficial for her to die when she was ready four months before she passed. Her tumors began to get bigger and she became increasingly uncomfortable. It was hard to see her in such pain and there was nothing I could do to help. For this reason I would like to see assisted suicide legalized.

Where in the World?

This is a very interesting question. Where am I going? This is interesting because both figuratively and literally I want to move up and out. As a career I would like to travel. I would love to have a career that allows me to work abroad and explore different areas of the world. I have always wanted to go to the middle east and India. As well as Africa. I also look forward to going back to Europe.
